Employment

American High-Tech Transcription, Inc., accepts inquiries via email only. We outsource work on a daily basis to independent contractors who may live anywhere in the U.S. All applicants must undergo a fingerprint criminal background check and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident of at least three years.

Employment w/ HTSTENO

Looking for Independent Contractors for:

1.  General Transcription work (interviews, police reports, conference work, etc.) Online test is required.

2.  Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, Creole translators and transcriptionists.
Must be certified by a state court interpreter's program, hold a university degree in translation or hold ATA or federal certification.   Online test is available for Spanish.

Due to very large volume of inquiries, we do not keep resumes on file.  Please check our website each month to see whether or not we are hiring.  Email questions to:  frontoffice@htsteno.com.  Thank you.

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:  For security reasons, you must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. You must be able to undergo FBI and state police fingerprint, criminal background checks, at your own expense. Your native language must be English. You must be a native English speaker, (unless you are applying for translation work and then you must also be a U.S. citizen and be completely fluent in the languages you are certified in as well as English.)
We do not hire beginners or students. We seek experienced transcriptionists only.

Please note:  "Typing fast" does not make you a skilled transcriptionist.  You must have a knack for punctuating the spoken word and have extremely good listening skills, as well as being able to understand the content of what you are typing.  We expect a fully proof read transcript to be returned to us. We will send more information to you via e-mail from frontoffice@htsteno.com. You must add this e-mail address to your list of acceptable addresses.   Because it contains attachments, it may end up in your spam/junk folder.
